I started my media career as a TV investigative journalist and went on to work extensively in Australia and overseas as a field producer and scriptwriter for public affairs, and later, lifestyle programs. I have honed the skills of making important things interesting, and interesting things important. 

​

I was one of Australia's first crop of freelance videographers, for clients as diverse IAG, CBA, SBS, Sydney Opera House and Luna Park. I’ve been combining my producer skills with hands-on shooting and editing ever since.

​

My trajectory from public affairs journalism to brand journalism through to content marketing, has shared the same gravitational force... meaningful audience connection. 

​

I have attained a Master in Digital Media at University of NSW School of Art & Design, with inclusion on the Dean's List, and I've recently enrolled in an MBA, majoring in sustainable business. 

 

I believe the evidence based science, and it tells us that the next decade is make or break moment for our world. So although I've been a working in visual storytelling all of my career, I recently established Weatherupdate Video to channel my skills and efforts toward the only issue that really matters. My aim is to work with businesses that are driven to make the world a better place.

Countless. That's the number of times I've found fantastic video content garaged on the back pages of a company website. Assets that could be out there getting noticed!

Video without a marketing plan is like a vehicle with no power. Going nowhere, seen by no one, delivering nothing.

​

It's an issue I see most often with fast growing enterprises whose staff are looking after the marketing and content creation tasks on top of their actual role. 

​

If your team doesn't currently have the bandwidth or resources to build and unleash a marketing campaign, repositioning and refreshing existing assets to deliver results can be a very good move. I can help with that. 

#2  NO PURPOSE

 These days it’s easy enough to go it alone and find people to shoot and edit professional looking visuals for your business.

Here’s the thing. Video crews are experts at operating camera gear to capture great shots. But nice visuals  are not the purpose of video for business. The purpose is to connect meaningfully with potential clients.

To tell your story in a compelling way. 

​

In the absence of purpose, the result of those slow-mo/birds eye/bokeh laced visuals is ‘video wallpaper’.

A wasted opportunity with those potential clients looking for information or assurance about your business offering. A successful production process is delivered on well defined purpose and messaging.
